Not just rockets & robots...
"Science Fiction" means—to us—everything found in the science fiction section of a bookstore, or at a science fiction convention, or amongst the winners of the Hugo awards given by the World Science Fiction Society. This includes the genres of science fiction (or sci-fi), fantasy, slipstream, alternative history, and even stories with lighter speculative elements. We hope you enjoy the broad range that SF has to offer.

"Greg, we need to talk."
"Oh jeez, listen Danny--"
"No! I am tired of listening to you. All your stories from tour, all the fascinating people you have met, how much you have grown and changed, your amazing transformation, blah, blah, blah."
"Danny--"
"I am so fed up with this new you that you've brought back from freaking nowhere Pennsylvania--"
"Transylvania--"
"And all your new friends who you feel the need to be around constantly. I don't think you've stayed in one night this week, you're always going out to party, getting your fix of whatever it is they've gotten you into."
"It's a little more complicated than that--"
"I'm sure it is. And I'm sure it has something to do with Mister Tall Dark and Handsome."
"Danny, if you just met William--"
"I'm sure I'd love him! I'm sure I'd love him just as much as you seem to love him!"
"It's not like that."
"Oh yeah, Greg, I know. It's more than a friendship with him, it's some sort of special bond."
"That's right."
"Well this special bond is hurting the special bond that I thought we had."
"Danny, my feelings for you haven't changed."
"But everything else has! Look at you, Greg. You've gone all pseudo-Goth on me. Black was never your color. You look like a walking corpse."
"Well--"
"You need to take a good hard look in the mirror and decide if this is really the kind of person you want to be."
"I don't think a mirror is what I need."
"Well then, what is it, Greg? What do you need? Because I'm sick of sitting around all day watching you sleep off your crazy nightlife and waiting in the dark for you to come home."
"You don't have to. You could come out with William and me sometime. I've invited you enough."
"I don't want to go out with William. I want to go out with you. You're the one that I want to spend my life with."
"Wait, Danny, what are you saying?"
"God, Greg, you know I love you. I want to be with you forever. But since you've come back, and you're this whole new you, I just don't know. I don't know if you know what you want."
"I want you, Danny."
"Do you really mean that, Greg?"
"Yeah, I really do. Come out with me tonight. I have a special surprise for you."
"Really? What?"
"A token of my affection. To prove that I want you, and only you. Forever."
"Oh my God, Greg, I'm so excited. My heart is racing!"
"I know, Danny. Trust me, I know."

Sometimes, stories are difficult to write. Other times, you go out drinking with your friends, someone mishears "Pennsylvania" as "Transylvania," and the story almost writes itself.
